Current Projects

I've been sewing like a fiend lately.  My parents got me cool quilting things for my birthday last year-like a rotery cutter, mat, and ruler, and I finally thought of projects to do with them.  I'm making a few baby blankets for friends and I am trying really hard to finish them by the time I leave for California next week (a few weeks ago I said I was homesick, and I really was- I partly blame the pregnancy hormones, the rest of the blame lands on my family for being incredibly awesome (causing me to want to see them).  Anyhow, my husband started looking at plane flights and found one for a pretty decent price.  Anyhow, I want to finish both blankets before I leave so that I can have my mom teach my how to use her awesome, and huge, quilting machine. I am pretty proud of the one I finished on Monday and hope to finish the other one before I leave next tuesday.  Granted I could finish it at my parents, but I wanted to finish it here on my own.  So here is the picture of one:

I'd lie if I said I wasn't stinkin proud of this!
Its fun to be sewing and I am grateful for a mom who is an expert sewer- she's received more than one phone call with questions.

The next quilt is the same pattern, different materials.  I can't wait till the finished product and will take pictures when they are both finished.  Yay for becoming better at sewing!  Its kind of addicting once you start...

I can't wait to make one for my own baby after I find out what it is!

That is amazing. A talent I do not have. That's so cool that your mom is such a great resource.
