Itchin to post a pregnancy update

It seems like once I decided to take a break from this blog, small ideas here and there for blog posts started coming to me, and I almost regretted saying I would take a rest.  So, here's to an "every-now-and-again" post.

As I am entering into my third trimester this in 6 days, I figured I could give you a pregnancy update- how I'm doing on my pregnancy goals, etc.

26 weeks and 0 days pregnant
19 pounds gained thus far.
Can you believe I'm that far along?  I can't!  98 days to go!  Wowsers!  I hope I can get ready for this by then!  Having more than one child in the house is going to be an adjustment, to say the least.

Throughout my pregnancy I have been trying really hard to keep my goals afloat and I feel like I am doing a pretty good job.  Exercise is still happening 5-6 days a week, with weight lifting and cardio switching each day.  I think that exercise is really helping me in my energy levels and just helping me feel extra good.  I made it a goal last week to stop having treats/sweets during the week (a goal I feel I constantly make and fail to see through), and I actually did it!  I was seeing more than the recommended 1 pound a week gainage for a few weeks, and figured that the 2 or 3 handfulls of chocolate chips that I was grabbing every few hours wasn't helping, so I only let myself have chocolate on the weekends now.  I'm feel better physically when I do that anyway, so it was really nice to do it and succeed!  And, I've gained 19 pounds so far, which really isn't to shabby!  I calculated it out, and if I gain the recommended pound a week from now until I am done, I will gain right around 35 pounds give or take a few, which is right where I wanted.  I eat when my body tells me I'm hungry and I stop (most of the time!) when I am full.  Its a great system and one I plan on sticking to when I am not pregnant any more.  I make sure I have lots of veggies and fruits, as well as protein and whole grains, and limit the extra stuff- pretty much everything I was doing before the pregnancy.

Anyhow, wanted to just give an update.  Besides being tired and a little bone-weary at night, life is good and being pregnant is great!
