Just finish the race
Tonight I am starting my "night before" race preparations as I am leaving for the big day tomorrow (the race is in the am, and I don't feel like leaving at midnight to get there, so we are staying at a hotel! YAY!).
Today I swam, to make sure I still could move those leggies and armies in the water, and I can, so that's good. I'll be the turtle in the race though. No hare here. Slow and steady wins the race, or in this preggo momma's case-finishes the race. It was the first time I actually swam in water since, oh, I don't know, last summer... No biggy, I felt good with my new maternity exercise-moister-wicking-top, and my too short to wear to junior high exercise shorts-they so would not pass the tip of your fingers test-but its the only thing I could find that would fit that wasn't 40 dollars... They will work great for the swim, a swim out fit I will probably use the remainder of the summer. I will also be wearing the same outfit for the bike and run-those that are there, just don't look to closely at the thighs as I run... it might be a little scary. And... don't worry its the only time you will see me in that short of shorts ever, unless I'm swimming.
Honest to goodness, I'm not too nervous about the race, yet... The swim has me sort of scared, but I know I will finish-that's my motto-
JUST FINISH THE RACE
Nothing else to stress about. I'm so excited to do this. Hopefully I will enjoy myself and hopefully it will push me to do more in the future-maybe that will be my race of choice from now on. The possibilities are endless! I will do some kind of race post pregnancy-like I did with my last, as a motivation to to get myself back to the pre-baby weight.
I'm also excited because my daughter and I get my husband to ourselves for 2 WHOLE DAYS! -A nice change from the 15 hour day he had yesterday. We really haven't seen him as much since we moved. But alas, at least he has a job right? YAY for a weekend for designated exercise and fimily time with the hubby and daughter. Watch out San Antonio! Here we come!
