Oh, that lovely lake!

Next to where we live there is a lake-White Rock Lake.

I mean, its very much next to us- just down our street 1 or two minutes!  How wonderful!

And, it is a lovely lake.

What I love most about this lake, is the H-U-G-E, wonderfully AWESOME, FANTASTIC, bike/running/walk/roller-blading trail along the ENTIRE thing!  Oh, its a lovely sight to behold.  It really is.

Its even better when I get to use it.  Right now, because of the bun-in-the-oven, I'm doing the walking part.

Today I decided I was going to go for a walk for my exercise.  It was so fun to explore a part of the lake I hadn't been at before-seeing people fish in their kayaks, crews of rowers practicing, guys standing on surf boards using a paddle to move it, and having all sorts of bikers courtiously saying "On your left" as they passed.  Oh, man!  It was AWESOME!  I loved the busyness of it, and I even loved better seeing all sorts of people making sure they get their exercise in for the day.  I was simply giddy!  Go people who are making a difference in life!

I was so happy, and I was so excited to be next to something so beautiful, that I sang
"For the beauty of the Earth".  What better way to show my gratitude to my maker?

The first verse goes like this:
For the beauty of the earth,
For the beauty of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies,
Lord of all to thee we raise
This our hymn of grateful praise.

This is one of my favorite hymns and I love that it just went perfectly with my feelings this morning!

Yay for that lovely lake!  Yay for the trail! Yay!  Yay!  Yay!

This elicited a new exercise goal I made:
I certainly exercise 6 days a week-making 3 cardio days and 3 weight lifting days.  Well, because of how fun it was, and because we are supposed to get cardio most days of the week, I figure my new goal will be:

Walk 6 days a week 30-60 minutes depending on if I lift weights.

Yay for goals!  Yay for walking!

HOpe you all have a great weekend!
