Scripture Power Series
Welcome to my first Scripture Power series post!
This week my family is learning a scripture I have always found very special to my heart.
I like posting our scripture on a chalkboard because my children can read it and see it everyday and I save trees by not printing out new posters every week. That's a win-win in my book!
On to the scripture then! Drumroll please........
D&C 25:12 "For my soul delighteth in the song of the heart; yea, the song of the righteous is a prayer unto me."
Music is in my blood. I've been playing piano since I was 8 and I've been singing (in choirs and the shower) since I was a teenager. There are few things that can evoke strong emotions in me like music can.
Heavenly Father delights in the song of the heart. Music is important to Him. You can feel the spirit when you hear wholesome music and this music is like a prayer to Him.
I love the Hymns. "Abide with me" and "A poor Wayfaring Man of Grief" are probably some of my all-time favorites. What are yours? Let me know in the comments . What do you like about music? Have you had a spiritual experience with music?
