I've decided
Now, that I have mentioned that I "might" train for a half marathon I need to keep my word and do it. Monday I thought about doing it and Tuesday I did the research and made it a reality. I found a schedule to follow, which is exciting. By the end of seven weeks I should be able to run twelve miles!!!!! Yay!!! This will indeed be the greatest thing I will have ever done. This will prove to myself that I can do anything that I set my mind to. I will not give up because i cannot give up. Never have I tried something so hard in my life. A quote I found says,
"Now if yo uare going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let hte body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired." -George S. Patton, U.S. Army General, 1912 Olympian.
This quote is going to be my motto. I am going to follow the council also found in the Doctrine and Covenants 89 to eat fruit and herbs (veggies) in their season and meat (sparingly), and grain as the staff of life. The promise is amazing that I will receive "health in their navel and marrow in their bones; And shal RUN and not be weary".
I will also follow the council found in Mosiah 3:19 to put of the natural man and put my strength in God and remember him always. It is only through my Heavenly Father that I might achieve my goals. I cannot do this by myself. It is through God that we can accomplish great things and my friend I believe that running 13.1 miles is a great thing a thing that seems near impossible. The Lord will help me with the impossible. Never have I tried something so difficult in my life, and although it will be difficult I will succeed. If I remember the Lord I will succeed. I have to.
