Garden update!

Our garden!  It has  grown so much!  We have been able to enjoy some tomatoes so far.  Our squash is close to producing.  Our bean plants are growing well, now that we have them attached to poles.  Our backyard is so green and beautiful!  Here is some pictures:

Our Tomatoes:  The plants have grown above the cages!  We get a red tomato every few days.  They are so tasty!

On the left is our bean plants.  They have decided to grow taller than the poles they are wrapped around, and now have gone above our fence.  Next to our beans we have bell pepper plants that we have grown from seeds (note to self, buy the plant, not the seed.  Its taking FOREVER!).

On the right we have basil (on left in picture) and a Red bell pepper plant (so excited for that one, its gotten huge!  Behind these are our oregano and parsely. 

Marigolds for natural pest control.  They have been doing all write in that instance.  I have found some recipes for homemade pesticides, and plan on using them.  Something really likes our bean plants, as well as our pepper plants.  I will let you know how the pesticide goes.

I found these flowers a few weeks ago, and wanted them.  Since these bins were used for our squash and zucchini plants that died (still sad about that...) I decided to reuse the soil and the bins to plant flowers to go in our front yard.  They are right next to our door and add a little bit of color and prettyness to our house!

Our yellow squash.  A few weeks ago we were out looking at the plants (I desperately wanted cilantro), and I saw both squash and zucchini plants.  Scott said we can get one (and I agreed because of lack of space), I opted for yellow squash because that is what he loves more, although I kind of wanted zucchini.  I decided to be nice.  Next year we will have BOTH kinds.  I want zucchini bread...

I love our garden! Its so fun to watch it grow.  I also love that it helps us live more providently by being self-sufficient.  So excited!  What is your favorite thing in your garden?
