New Resolve
In all honesty, I was not the healthiest of eaters the first trimester of this pregnancy. I craved everything bad for me. Healhty food just sounded kind of disgusting. Now that I am into my 2nd trimester, it seems I can more than tolerate healthy foods, I am craving them again! YAY! I'll still tell you that every once in the while I get a craving to eat out especially at this place we've found in Dallas called "Roti Grill". Its an Indian-style restaurant that's to die for! But, that's besides the point. Because healthy food sounds good again, my resolve to eat healthy has become greater, especially when I think of the beautiful baby inside of my tummy!
What I am doing:
-eat as many fruits and veggies that I can-I try and have one veggie based meal a day at least.
-drink at least 64 ounces of water. More is always better.
-Drink around 3 glasses of milk to get my calcium- I feel like I just blast through my milk cartons, and lactose-free milk does not come cheap!
-Try and eat only 100% whole wheat breads, cereals, and snacks.
-Eat by intuition. I don't count calories now, and I'll have to say-its been a nice change! I may focus more on intuition eating after the baby is born too. I like it. Although, I would have to disclose that this week as we've been dealing with a cranky child who wants her pacifier, I've had my intuition tell me more than once that those whole wheat double dark chocolate peanut butter cookies in the cookie jar were okay to eat, but again, that's besides the point... ;)
So, basically I'm trying to do everything I did before I was pregnant, just trying to amp up the health again. It feels good to be back to my normal self in that aspect. And hey, I think I'm doing pretty good in the gaining weight spectrum of the pregnancy. Right where I should be! Yay! I'm smaller now then I was in my first trimester with my daughter, and that just makes me feel good. Maybe I won't gain fifty pounds this time! There to hopin! Don't worry though, I'm not depriving myself. Whenever I am hungry I eat-I just make sure its good for you eats and I make sure I exercise 6 days a week. I feel great!
Hope you have a happy day today!
