My half marathon schedule-
With my last half I followed a specific, very easy for the beginner, schedule, and plan to do the same this time. You can find the url for it on a post I did when I began my training last time, over two years ago- half marathon schedule.
Since I made the announcement that I was going to do this half, I have kind of got scared. Scared of the being able to achieve this goal- yes I am fearful even though I know I did it before. My husband won't be doing it this time, so I would be doing the training on my own. That's nerve racking. Plus, I'm fearful that I won't find time. I'm also fearful that I will be able do the race and not make my baby starve. Hopefully I will be able to nurse her right before the race starts. Luckily I live right down the street from where it will be, so that's an added bonus. So many factors to worry about, and I kind of got overwhelmed about it this afternoon. When I decide to do something, I kind of become obsessed with it, whether it be sewing, crocheting, exercising, races. Anything. Anyhow, I got reminded that using that fear to push me towards my goal instead of hold me back really will help me accomplish it-
I'm reading "Unlimited" by Jillian Michaels, and if you minus all of the swear words in there (I shouldn't be surprised), its really a good book and has opened my eyes to a lot of things that I need to fix, and things that will help empower me in all aspects of my life. She said about fear, "Yes, the unknown can be scary, even painful sometimes. But venturing into it is usually worth the risk. Remember, every action you take plants a seek; if you take that action with a pure intention, it will yield fruit in time." If you never try to do something that is out of your comfort zone you won't grow. (As a side note, I think Jillian Michaels should read the book of mormon, she would agree with a lot of whats said in there. I recall a certain book of mormon prophet that said a similer thing about planting a seed and as you take action to make it grow, it will some day bear fruit. Anyhow, just my opinion. She should read it I think).
So anyhow, there is my schedule and my thoughts for the evening. I really need to go running...
