Because your a mother

Part of being healthy is striving to be a better parent.  The last few weeks I have been spending my time focusing my morning scripture study on parenting topics, both in the scriptures and from talks given by modern day apostles and prophets.  I really want to become a better mother.  My daughter deserves it.  There is always room for improvement.  The overriding principle in most everything that I have read is that to be successful, include God in your efforts.  He trusts mothers enough to send children to them.  That comforts me right there.  He wants us to succeed in mothering our children, in preparing them for living their lives righteously.  I take pride in that.  In the church to which I belong, we believe that we can, and will be with our family forever, beyond the death, as long as we all live a faithful and righteous life.   My job in helping my daughter live this way is by preparing her at home while she is a child.  I take that responsibility very seriously, and I want to be better at it, which is why I am studying about this topic right now.  As I was deciding what to study this morning, I found this talk given by a current apostle-Jeffrey R. Holland called "Because She is a Mother" .  I recommend this to anyone who is a mother.  It is very incouraging in our efforts to be good mothers.  Everytime I forget, or need reminding that I am doing a good job, I am going to go to this talk because its perfect!  I highly recommend it to everyone to read.  It will help me be more "healthy" in the motherhood aspect of my life.
