Calorie King Calorie Counter
So, a few posts ago I said I wanted this book. I got it this weekend!!!!!! And, its amazing! I love it. Yesterday I wanted something other than the recipes that the Jillian Michaels online plan suggest for me (I have been missing my old recipe, which are quite healthy, might I add). The only reason I hadn't used the old recipes is because I just did not have calorie counts for them. Well, yesterday I wanted to make a good meatloaf recipe I have (it has lots of veggies in it, yum!). So, I sat down with my calorie counter, a calculator, and the recipe and I calculated the calories. I was surprised that one slice of meatloaf (five slices in a loaf, I know big slices, right?) was 220 calories! How awesome is that? You get meat, dairy (parmesan cheese), veggies, and whole grains (whole wheat bread crumbs). So, basically it is a meal in one, but I added yummy dinner homemade dinner roll to it (which I calculated to be 140 cal). I was so excited! So, I had a yummy meal for 360 calories. Not bad, I think! I was so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I will keep the calorie king in my purse/ diaper bag. It has around 200 restaurants which is nice because whenever I visit my parents I can take it with me when they want to go out to eat (which is always a must when we go), and I can pick the lower calorie meal on the menu! Unfortunately most nice restaurant meals were in the thousand calorie range (I know!!! They say its bad, but I did not think it was that bad!), so I need to make sure to cut the meals at least in half but probably even in thirds to stay in my calorie count. But, isn't that cool? Now even on the go, I can lose weight because I have this book to save me. I suggest to anyone who wants to lose weight through calorie counting to buy this book. It is a great thing!
