Another Love-Hate relationship
This has been a love/hate relationship of mine my entire life:
RUNNING
I both love and hate running.
Love: because its a great workout, and it feels so good to know I can run so-many minutes, or run so many miles. The accomplishment of having run is what I love. I can get er done earlier in the morning because I just need to strap my child in the jogger and we are off. So nice!
Hate: because its a hard workout. There is no breaks in you working hard, because you are supposed to run the ENTIRE time. At least I tell myself I need to run the entire time. That is what I told myself in that picture (yay for the half-marathon I did and my never do again, another love/hate relationships-half-marathons). It takes as much time as my other workouts (today I ran 45 minutes because that is how long I would workout for at home), but instead of being able to change it up, you do the exact same thing for fourty-five minutes. That makes it hard.
A few things that make me love running while I am hating it- i.e.while I am in the process of running:
iPOD- This saved me today during my run. I listened to General Conference talks (easily downloaded online). For those of you who aren't familier with The Church of Jesus Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, bi-annually is held a "General Conference" where the prophet and the twelve apostles, and other general authorities of the church talk to the church as a whole through a broadcast via satalite (can be seen on BYUtv the first weekend of October, this year). There are four sessions for everybody, held over two days. Its nice to listen to them, and I read the talks and download to listen or watch them again for a recap, and to learn all I can about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I equate it to studying the scriptures. Anyhow, I decided to listen to the Saturday morning session while I ran this morning. I only got through 3 talks, but boy were they awesome to listen to again! I was able to keep the spirit with me as I ran. It helped me reflect on all that God has given me, and the beauty of his plan. It was just wonderful listening to something uplifting while I ran.
Running Buddy: Whenever I can, I try to get my husband to run with me. That way I have someone to suffer through it with me, and we can encourage each other to finish. He is what helped me finish that half-marathon, and helps me whenever we go running now.
I hate running, but I love running.
Is there anything that you love but hate too?
