I figured it out!!!!!!!!
Okay. So, here's the deal:
I know we will want more children sometime in the next few years. So, the dilemma is: how can I approach it differently next time so don't gain 50 pounds like the last time. Because, although I will always want to be healthy, this losing weight thing sucks. I am doing it, and that is good, but I would rather not have to do it, you know? It is hard to not feel jealous of others who look like they did pre-preggo the day after they have their baby (okay, slight exaggeration, but you get the point right?). I have been thinking lately, "Man, I am really not hungry that often. What is different and how can I make this how I feel the rest of my life?" I figured it out!!!! I eat more protein and less refined, dessserty-type carbs!!!!!!!! That is the trick! Instead of just eating an apple for a snack (or like, during my pregnancy, eating 3 granola bars, an apple, and a ziplock bag of cereal), eat an apple with nuts, or peanut butter (almond butter would probably be better). That way, I not only get an apple, which is carbs, but I get protein and healthy fats through the nuts. That is the trick! BALANCE! If I keep my meals balanced then I will stay full longer. I have always known that moderation is the way to go, but I think it finally clicked today that this is not something I only must know but something I must also practice. Hopefully this "click" will stay "clicked" for the rest of my life!!!!! But, now I have the recipe for a good pregnancy the next time around- moderation, balance, and exercise! WOOHOO!!!!
