The aftermath of halloween and the beginning of race week
Okay, so I went into Halloween weekend thinking that I was going to let myself have a little bit of candy (because I think if I said no to it I would have completely binged, felt horrible, and thought that my weightloss so far was all for nothing)... so a few good things happened. Usually when I buy halloween candy my husband and I eat a whole bag of it before halloween comes and we have to end up buying some more to give out. Well, good news! I did not even touch the candy the entire week! As Saturday came along I did not really think about how much I would eat but I knew I did not want to eat a ton of candy. We took our little bumble bee to the branch trunck or treat and went trick or treating with her (so the daddy could get some candy). We kept some of the good candy we were handing out for ourselves (I know, but it was the really good stuff!!!). I am proud to say that the whole weekend I had a total of 6 pieces of the candy that we had! I am so proud of myself because in years past I would just eat as much as I can! But, I was good! And the good news is, is that although it tasted good, it gave me a headache (and my husband as well, becuase we hadn't had candy in so long), which has made me not want any more of the candy that we have! Anyhow, I am feelin good!
So, we did not get in our 8 mile run on Saturday because my hubby had to work all day, and we don't run on Sundays so tonight is going to be our 8 mile run. Then tomorrow three and thursday three. My parents will get in town on Wednesday, which I am super excited for. My dad is running with us in the race (yes, they are coming jsut for that, and to see their grandbaby, or course!). I am super excited to have my parents come and to have my running buddy from my adolescent years hear to run with me. It means so much to have supportive parents and husband because that is how I have been doing so well.
Saturday is race day! I can't believe it is here and I am so excited to have this goal finished! After 3 months of running, and a lot of it, it gets kind of boring. Can't wait to change up my work out routine! What I can't wait for more is to say that I completed this seemingly impossible goal of mine! I think I will believe I can do anything after this! I will keep you updated this week on our final week of training!
