2010 Goals
My goals aren't complete, and I will probably think of new goals throughout the year to add to the list, but isn't that what I should do? Without constantly changing and trying to become better I won't. If I don't have goals and write them down, they won't happen. I was talking to my dad yesterday while we were running (first time I ran 4 miles since the race), and I said I was working on goals for this year and once I figured them out I was going to post them. He said, "You are posting them online for the whole world to see? Man you are brave!" First of all, if I don't post them online (the "whole world" is quite an exaggeration, a "few friends" is the more likely term), I won't be accountable. I can write them down anywhere, but I will be the only one to see them. No body will know if I accomplish them or not. No. But if I write my goals on this blog, for people to see, remain more accountable and more likely to accomplish them. So, with that I unfold my plan to me:
1. Keep a food diary. I believe that if I keep a food diary my weightloss will continue and I will solve more problems with my health. So, today I will buy a food journal and start on this goal.
2. get to my goal weight by March.
3. Institute a once a week dessert day. I eat way too many desserts, especially here. I think if I still allow myself a dessert occasionally I won't go crazy and binge on them. So once a week, I will have desserts in the month of February. And desserts constitute cake, cookies, or chocolate. That way chocolate won't control me...
4. Do a triathlon
5. Do the El Tour de Tucson in November. Its a big bike race.
6. Become better at keeping a budget. I know how, I just don't do it..
7. Hike a mountain. Maybe Mt. Witney in California.
8. Graduate with my bachelors degree by the end of the year.
This is just a preliminary goal list. It may change, but this is what it is for now.
