Interesting...

Yesterday was interesting...

I say interesting, but I really don't know what other word to use. It was good and bad and good at the same time.

The day started off by checking my weight.
Bad thing: I did not lose anything.
Good thing: I did not gain weight and I lost a few inches around my waist and hips, which is always good.

Good thing: Got the laundry done. Whew, it took awhile even though there is three of us.

We were invited to a dinner party with the hubby's new coworkers.
Good thing: He volunteered me to make some cookies.
Bad thing: He volunteerred me to make some cookies. I made his request, very yummy and not so healthy chocolate chip cookies.
Good thing: I made some super yummy, pretty healthy cherry-chocolate oatmeal cookies I found in cooking-light magazine (one of my new favorite magazines!)- 94 cal a cookie!
Bad thing: Eating too much at the dinner party and having 2 cookies at home, and two at the party, plus some dough.
Bad thing: I ate WAY over my calories
Good thing: I had so much fun with everyone! It is great because the hubby's boss goes to our church, so it was especially nice to get to know them better.

What I learned:
1. Next time we are invited to a dinner party volunteer to make a salad instead of a dessert. I will probably eat less...
2. Dinner parties are so fun!
3. If I do make treats, don't snack while I make them.
4. Don't eat funeral potatoes (way too many calories)
5. At the same time, restricting at these types of things is no fun. Luckily I only had seconds on the cookies.
6. Because of my choices yesterday, I got to be good today, really good.
7. A new/renewed goal: I really need to institute a once- a-week dessert rule. I have had dessert too much.
