Aha...

I was researching on the web trying to find a triathlon near hobbs. The closest I found was in Lubbock, TX which is two hours away. There are two, one in April and one in May. I might try doing the one in May. Unfortunately, though, the pool at our new complex is not open till April. But, the good news is that I found out the city has a pool, and I am almost positive that it is open all year round. YAY!!!!!!!!!!! So, I might be able to get this triathlon thing going! I just bought a bike trailer so that I could take the baby on my bike rides. I was considering doing a duathlon if I couldn't find a close triathlon. I have to call the pool or visit to see what their hours are. They had holiday hours, so I think they are open. Now, onto finding a schedule...
