1/2 a pound
My family requested that I share if I gained, lost, or stayed the same while I was on vacation. I gained 1/2 a pound. I was not expecting to have gained very much, because it just did not feel like I had. Luckily I only gianed 1/2 a pound. Who does not fluctuate a little bit while on vacation? Although I ate out a lot while I was gone (literally I had a meal at a restaurant 10 days in a row, no joke), I only gained 1/2 pound. Although I splurged and had some treats that I normally would not have (I would have healthier versions of them), I only gained 1/2 a pound. In spite of the fact that I missed 2 workout days (seriously, I'm so proud of myself! I only missed 2 days out of 15 workout days! Not bad!) I only gained 1/2 pound. Thank goodness for those thirteen days of working out I did while I was gone! I surely would have gained more had I been gone longer! But I had so much fun not worrying about counting all of the calories, and eating treats I normally would have said no to. That is the point of my life-style. I don't deprive myself. If I want chocolate I have chocolate (speaking of which...maybe for my snack later, or some cookies...healthy ones of course!), if I want a cookie I bake a cookie. I have been so successful because I do not feel deprived. That is why I have lost 50 pounds! This goes to show as well, that even when you eat out 10 days in a row, you can still make smart choices, and therefore not feel completely guilty. For example- when I had salad, like the house salad at Wingers (one of Scott's requests while we were in Utah) I took off the croutons and the cheese, and ordered a vinagrette instead of their customary ranch. When I ate out at Cafe Rio- a must when I am in CA or Utah (thank goodness they have put restaurants close to my family in CA, it used to be just a Utah, Idaho restaurant), I made sure to get the tacos, and I ate them with corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are around 50 calories a piece instead of the big flour tortilla they use on their burritos or salads (unfortunately that is 430 calories, just for the tortilla!!! Ahhhh!!!!). And their tacos are sooooo good! Anyhow, being sensable while eating out is so doable.
I am so happy that I did so well. Really, what's 1/2 a pound? I can shave that off in the next week if I tried hard enough! Maybe I can shave off more than that. We shall see. But, yay! Really, I am glad I did so well!
