Feel Good Reminder
This morning as I stepped on the scale (for I changed my weigh in day on Monday, that way I don't go crazy on the weekends...) and I was pleasently reminded that hard work, and dedication do make you reach your goals. I exercised every day, having 3 weight lifting days, and 5 cardio days. Monday through Friday I wrote everything down, and did no extra snacking, which is a feat in and of itself. It was so difficult! I can't tell you how many times the thought went through my mind, "Oh, the girly won't finish her food, well hate to waste it," or, "Only this time won't hurt". And, many, many, many other rationalizations that went through my mind when I was trying so hard to say no. It is a lot easier to say no when you keep your goal in mind every day and make a conscious effort to do what you are supposed to. I kept the mantra going through my mind that I control the food, it does not control me (thank you trainermomma!). On Saturday and Sunday I was a little more lenient, but not be too much. I feel like I stayed within my bounds pretty well. Yay for the 3.5 pounds I lost (all that extra exercise helped big time!)!
Now, hopefully I can do well this week by doing the same thing: Counting and recording everything I eat, no extra snacking, and control with the desserts I eat- choose my battles, use discretion in my choosing. Its a tradition that I make gingerbread men for Scott's coworkers every Christmas, and so I'll be doing that this week, and I will not taste or try them at all. I know they taste good, but they are not low in calorie, so I'm just going to stay away, that way I won't eat the whole batch! I have a Christmas party for Scott's work this week, and I am not going to get a dessert there, especially if it is store bought-it wouldn't be worth my time. Then on Friday we are going to hang out with friends, and I may suggest that dessert can be cut up fruit maybe with a low cal fruit dip. Sunday will be my indulge day. I will get dessert on Sunday. That's the plan. Thanks for listening to my goals. It makes it easier to stick to it if I write out my plan and tell people about it. YAY for goals!
