New favorite breakfast

This is something I made up myself.  I have it most everyday.  Its got a lot of fiber, protein and just yummy goodness.  Try it out.  Tell me what you think!

Yummy hot cereal
1/4 cup 6 grain cereal blend (or 90 calories worth of oatmeal or other hot cereal)
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup light vanilla soymilk (I like silk)
a few dashes of cinnimon or pumpkin pie spice
3/4 cup unsweetened applsauce
1 tbs pecans, finely chopped
1/2 tbs wheat germ

Place cereal, water, and 1/4 cup of the soymilk in a saucepan and bring to boil.  Cook until you like it (I boil it till most of the liquid is done, you can adjust the water or milk according to how you like your hot cereal).  While that is cooking, mix the rest of the soymilk with the applesauce in a bowl, and heat it in the microwave until warm (I do anywhere from 1-2 minutes).  When the applesauce mixture is warm and the cereal is cooked, place them both in a bowl, add the pecans and wheat germ, and mix.

Yields one serving at 263 calories per serving.

I like to make it an even 300 calories by adding other random things.  Usually is another cereal, or some banana.  Today I added 1/4 cup Honey Bunches of oats with Pecan clusters.  Sometimes I will put a few mini muffins broken up with it.  Just depends what I have on hand.

Hope you like it!  Play around and have fun with the recipe.

What is one of your favorite cereals?

My all time favorite breakfast that I eat EVERY morning is:
1/4 cup steel cut oats
1 cup water
cinnamon.
Microwave in a LARGE bowl for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, In a bowl put 1 chopped apple, 1/4 cup raisins, a handful of blueberries, and some honey.
When the oats are done pour them over the fruit and enjoy!!
