Having Fun in Alamogordo

We are having such a fun time with our friends, checking out the beautiful sights of Alamogordo, and surrounding area.  Most of New Mexico (at least where we live) is not beautiful, so we were surprised to find a beautiful mountain area, that actually gets cool at night, in the summer.  I was cool enough to roast marshmallows in the fire last night!  So fun!  Its okay to indulge sometimes, right?  We are staying in a townhouse in Cloudcroft, and it was such a good choice.  The kiddos all have a place to take their naps, and we have a common area to hang out.  There is a kitchen, so we have had home-cooked meals the entire time we have been here.  So wonderful.  I highly recommend doing something like this...  We are even staying pretty healthy, something that is quite the feat when on vacation.  I guess that is what happens when I, and my friend, plan the menu.... Bahahaha... So fun! 

We went to a Pistachio farm, which was super fun.  Who knew that New Mexico was prime nut breeding grounds?  Seriously, there are nut farms EVERYWHERE.  So, of course we had to buy some pistachios.  We also got some cherry honey (I know, sounds good right?).  I think I am going to use it in the applesauce muffins next time I make them.  It will taste super good I think!

I'm so excited!  Tomorrow, we are going to an apple farm, and hopefully they will have a good supply of apples, because I need to make more applesauce.  Our supply is getting really, really, really, really low.  I use applesauce for everything, as you well know.  So, hopefully we will come away with a few bushels of apples... Yay!  We are having fun and loving life!
