SOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!
Today I am eating ranch dressing on my salad for the first time in I don't know how long. Ranch has diary in it, even the dry packets. So, I found a recipe to do my own. It can be found at heavenlyhomemakers.com as well. I used plain yogurt instead of mayo (with 1 tbs of light mayo), and fat-free lactaid mixed with some vinegar in place of butter milk. Ya dude!
Ranch Dressing Dry Mix
5 tbs dried minced onions
7 tsp dried parsely flakes
3 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
for dressing:
use 1 cup of yogurt (with one tbs mayo in the cup of yogurt-it should measure out to one cup together), and one cup buttermilk (I used fat-free milk with some vinegar) with 2 tbs dressing mix. Shake really good in a jar. It reminds me of my Grandma Westover's homemade ranch dressing she had every time we visited. I loved it on Salads (before I knew I was lactose-intolerant), and it is just wonderful! I will forever be able to have ranch dressing now! Yay for homemade stuff! Tastes better anyhow!
