Tired but happy
The last few Mondays I have just felt SO EXHAUSTED-like I lost a TON of sleep. I totally could go take a nap. I think I get less sleep on the weekends than just during the week. I need to get better at that.
This weekend was really fun. I found 20 dollars in a birthday card that I hadn't used, and Scott and I realized we hadn't used our walmart gift cards we got from my grandma for Christmas yet. So, we went shopping on Saturday! I got a new cookbook-Taste of Home Comfort Food Diet cookbook. I did not get it to do the diet, but just to have more new recipes. I tried a yummy cookie recipe yesterday from it-Yummy chocolate gingersnaps. They are 69 calories a pop, and SO Finger-lickin good! I tried another recipe this morning-Waffles with Peach-Berry Compote for 251 calories. It was so good as well! The thing I like about this cookbook is that it is first sectioned in snacks, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and then dessert. The second thing I like is that in each section there are categories of calorie amounts. For example, in the breakfast section there is a section that is 100-250 calorie items, and then there is a section for 250-350 calorie items. Its nice because I can say I have 300 calories to eat for breakfast, so I look in that section, and I find something that is the exact calorie amount I can have. Each section is like that. The ingredients in the book are mostly ingredients you would most likely have in your home, which is really nice.
I also got some new workout dvds! I got a yoga one, which I figured I can burn almost 400 calories with, and a Tae Bo one, which I can burn over 400 calories with. The Yoga one was SO relaxing! It was difficult, but I loved it! I might do the Tae Bo one today. If I add weights to it, then that means it is a strength training workout right? What would Yoga be under? Is it a strength training workout too? Hmm. I will have to do some research.
It was a successful weekend! yay! Now, back to the grind of the school week. argh...
